Top ads are ads that appear in the special section at the top of a category's page. More people read and reply to these ads because of their prominent position on the first page of a category over a long time period. While posting ads on our site is free, Top ads require the payment of a small fee.

Top ads appear in a special section. This section appears at the top of a category's page for either 3 or 7 days. Top ads get more visitors and more replies than other ads. This helps you sell an item quicker, get more exposure for your service, and so on. As well, ads that are Top ads continue to appear within the regular category and search listings after your ad is no longer a Top ad.

To become a Top ads, post an ad and then click the "Post your Top ad" button that is found near the "Post your ad" button on the confirmation page. To make Top ad an existing ad, click the "Top ads" link found in the email that was sent to you when you posted an ad. Alternatively you can make Top ads using the "Top ads" link found on the My ads page.

Posting regular ads are free. However Top ads costs a small fee :

At most 5 ads will show up in the Top ads section. If there are more than 5 such ads in a category, then the extra Top ads will be hidden for a few minutes. After a few minutes those ads will then show up with other ads being hidden. This rotation system is setup to ensure that your ad is exposed to as many users as possible.

You can pay for Top ads using a PayPal account or Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa AMEX or Discover). All payments are securely processed through our payment partner. You can also pay by cheque or bank transfer.

Top ads fees are non-refundable. If you have deleted your ad or if the ad was deleted for violating the site policies, then the fees paid for Top ads will not be refunded.

You can only make a Top ad in the category the ad was posted in. However the ad will also be Top ad in the category's parent. For example if an ad was made Top ad in the "computers" category then it will also appear in the parent "buy & sell" category.

To place an existing ad in the Top ad section, visit My Place, find your ad and then click on Edit. Next, click on Preview / Post and you will have the option to make it a Top Ad.

You may see between 1 to 5 Top ads at a time.
